I am a British artist living in Torrevieja, a city situated on Spain’s South East Mediterranean coast. For inspiration, I draw strongly from my environment – the colours, materials, landscape, sounds, the people and their culture.

The theme of my practice is identity; both how we express ourselves as individuals, and the relationships we have with each other and our surroundings.

I want to understand what makes us feel a sense of belonging; what characteristics of a place, culture or group make us feel an affinity towards it. With this insight I am using my practice as a vehicle to celebrate diversity, tolerance and inclusion within my community. Making my art accessible to a diverse demographic is therefore a key element of my practice, alongside audience participation and feedback to feed into my research inform the future direction of my work.

I have just finished studying for a degree in Textiles, with the Open College of the Arts in the UK and I am awaiting my final results.

Sample (2023): Inspired by a traditional esparto sieve at the Museo del Mar, Santa Pola, Alicante, Spain (repurposed plastic water bottle strips painted with acrylic paint, hemp string, esparto grass).
